On Thursday 26th April, Lodge Albert 448 played host to
visit from the European Masonic Association, (EMA). The EMA is a group
of Masons, wives and widows that get together annually to visit other
Countries in Europe and to visit other Lodges.
Lodge Albert was very pleased that they had chosen to
visit our Lodge on the occasion of their visit to Dundee, Scotland. Our
thanks goes to PM Bro. Alex Marr of Lodge Ancient #49 for his organisation
of the event.
There were 45 visitors and each one received a
Certificate commemorating the Occasion. Thanks to Bro. Bob McClafferty for
producing the Certificates!
The Ring!
Lodge Albert 448 also took the Opportunity to raffle a
Masonic Ring to raise funds for Charity.
The raffle realised £500!
£250 Cheques were presented to Mr Ian Babbe of Asbestos
Action (Tayside) and to Mrs Doreen Munro of Alzheimer's Scotland (Angus
Branch). Thanks to Bro Bob McLafferty and Bro Ian Munro, PM for putting us
in touch with these deserving causes.
The Ring was won by the RWM's son, (he's J.D.), but
realising the purpose of the Raffle, he kindly returned it and the eventual
winner was a Brother Gordon Reeves of Lodge New Rippon Falls, #8833, of West
Kent, England. So the Ring is well and truly on it's journey and I'm assured
that it is to be Raffled again very soon at a gala event - so here's hoping
it continues to raise lots of money for Charity for a long time to come!
Well done to all involved!
